Every founder or executive director knows why their organization should exist; and when standing in front of you, there’s no shortage of evidence they can share on why you should fund their critically important program. Writing the evidence is a whole different story.

I have written grant applications that were funded by the Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs, the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, the United Way for Southeast Michigan, and the DTE Energy Foundation among many others.

Proofreading

You’ve already written the story you want to tell. You have no interest in my thoughts on narrative development and have already completed revisions. Now, all you need is to ensure that the grammar is tight and spell check didn’t spite you.

Proofreading rates begin at $32.50 per hour for 11 manuscript pages per hour. Rates may be adjusted based on the particulars of the project.

Copy Editing

Copy editing begins as basic revision. It differs from proofreading in that it checks for grammar, spelling, AND style, strength of transitions, jargon, and wordiness. Heavier copy edits may even include rewrites.

Basic copy editing rates begin at $35 per hour for 6 manuscript pages per hour. Rates may be adjusted based on the particulars of the project.

Fact Checking

Every incredible thing written is not a fact. I can help you check that what you’ve written is true—with citations from verified, reliable sources.

Fact checking is a really time-intensive process. Rates begin at $35 per hour and may be adjusted, depending upon the project.
